Get the Latest version of WhatsApp from here https://www.whatsapp.com/download/

Uninstall the old version of WhatsApp and install the latest version (The one you recently downloaded)

Now open WhatsApp and go to Settings > Privacy > Now Disable the “Read Receipts” option
